Anyone interested in a 5K?

Some of my family and friends know that I have started running. I know it's shocking...especially to me since I vowed I would never run but... I gave in. Running (or for me maybe fast walking is a more accurate visual) is really addictive. You have to learn all this special stuff to do it well without hurting yourself and its really competitive even if your only competing against yourself. :) Some of you might ask, "Why did you decide to start running now?" I was actually inspired by a co-worker who is probably in her late forties but runs a few marathons every year. That blew me away. Living in Utah you kind of get a lot of pressure to be a runner. It seems as if everyone runs and LOVES to run. It drove me crazy because I was so resistive to trying it myself. But when I started listening to my co-worker talk about her long runs each morning I started getting jealous. I began wanting to improve my time when I hadn't even ran a 1/2 mile in my whole life without killing over. So I started really slowly and worked my way up. I still can't run very long but I am getting there. So the whole point of this rant was to try and inspire someone I know to run. It's good for your health and I need a running partner for a 5k. Any takers? I think I want to do the Annual Salt Lake Marathon/5K April 19th. Let me know if your brave enough :)

Since I am probably one of the two people who even know about your corner of the world I thought I needed to comment on this one as well!

If I were there it may give me something to aspire too, but since I am not I will put off my desire to run a bit longer! I often see running as solving all my problems but I can't bring myself to stick in there with it. You are an inspiration that perhaps I too could be a fast walker.
