First attempt

I have kinda been obsessing about learning how to embroider. I know that I am a dork...but I swear it will be cool. I don't think anyone could be as excited to get a book about embroidery as me but I finally got mine and had Kellen bring it to be at work as soon as it came in the mail. The book is Sublime Stitching by Jenny Hart. My friend Emily is the one that brought it to my attention and she has made so many cute things. It's really good for giving some tips and something to reference when you forget what you are doing. What's even better is it has hundreds of iron-on patterns! Woo hoo. So here is my first attempt. Leah wanted me to try a doggie...so I did and we made a little dress for her baby doll. By the way...if anyone is talented enough and figured out how to do a french knot...let me know!

A VIDEO LIBRARY OF EMBROIDERY STITCHES!

I am glad you are starting to stitch. Beware, it IS addicting, but so portable and cheap! Love the dog, keep it up!

I love it! I love the dress too! Good job! About the french knot...I have done them on my Christmas stockings before. It is a whole lot easier for me to understand how to make the knot when I see the instructions in picture form. You take the needle and push it through to the side you want the knot showing. You then wrap the thread around the needle three times (I hope it is three b/c I did three)Then you just push the needle back close to the original hole. Some fabric and thread look better in the same hole and some look better slightly away from each other. Good luck!

Wow! You are so talented. I think that is awesome. You could embroider all your Christmas stockings with your names. That is so cool.

Wow, you're amazing. Sewing is on my list of things to learn how to do, but you've taken that a notch higher with embroidery!
